Safari Nursery Decor: How to Turn Baby's Room into a Savannah

Of all the nursery theme ideas, safari nursery décor is one of the easiest to work on. There are many products available to help you decorate your safari baby room and it can be a lot of fun. The soothing palette of browns and golds is ideal for any age and perfect for boys and girls.

You have a lot of options when it comes to decorating a baby's room with a safari theme. Think dust and sunsets, wild animals and Jeeps and you've got a great start. One way to go is to do the lower half of the room in dark brown, with a yellow and orange upper section and a big setting sun on one wall with silhouettes of the animals you might see on a safari.

If you want to stick with the simplest methods, then paint the walls a dusty yellow gold or tan and add wall decals and a border. There are some amazing wallpaper borders with animals on them. In many cases you can use the same borders that would be used in a jungle room.

Finishing Touches

The real fun in safari nursery décor is in the details. A six foot giraffe in a corner of the nursery . . . zebra print curtains, or a leopard print end table can add a lot to a baby room like this. Don't forget the bedding, it can be covered in adorable animals or be in giraffe print for more exotic looking crib bedding.

Stuffed animals are a great way to go and you can hang prints and photos of African scenes and animals on the walls, too. Don't forget a stuffed animal hammock in one corner!

There's so much you can do with safari nursery décor that it can be difficult to know just where to start. Paint first and then work your way up the decorating ladder!
