Wall Murals - A Wall in Every Room

I got a call from some of my friends the other day. Jake and Diane are married couple with 3 children, Sarah (16 years), Jordan (11 years) and Emily (7 years). They invited me to see their newly renovated home. They have been working on this project for 2 ½ years and finally finished the whole house. They are proud of the work they have achieved and now invite friends and family over to show off their finished product.

So today is my turn to stop by and see what kind of decorators and of course they turned out to compliment them on a job well done. I arrived around 12 pm and rang the doorbell. Diane came to the door and invited me in.

Over to the left of the entrance is the living room. Soon after I entered my awe struck by the far wall. They depend on a full wall mural called Treasury Splendor. This mural artists rendition of a narrow river with a white wooden bridge to cross from one side to another. Meanwhile, there is lush foliage on both sides of the river shore.

The colors are that of the early autumn with green, gold, orange, yellow, and red leaves in an array that only nature can create. The decline of wild flowers in full bloom. There were tall trees in the background and the foreground on the river is 2 white swans floating in the river water. Needless to say they had decorated the room in a fashion similar to the beauty of the mural.

From there we met up with Jake in the family room. This room is what they call their entertainment center. On the far wall is a large flat panel TVs and under the TV is filled with oak cabinets home theater audio and video electronic comp
onents.

A large micro fiber sectional sofa in a curved pattern is positioned just far enough away from the TV (about the middle of the room), so the surround sound speakers in all 4 corners of the room can be heard with peak precision. With oak bookcase and table 2 with matching oak chairs and curtains in multi-color earth tones, the only thing left to say is ...

Yes, this room also has a beautiful wall mural. This mural of an artist's rendition of urban city with skyscrapers each other. This time the color shades of glorious brown, gold, Maroon, black, yellow, gray and white. This is the modern urban art
tastefully done.

So now they ask me to follow them into the kitchen. Here are the oak cabinets in a honey finish. All counter tops are granite in medium brown. Wall above counter ceramic mosaic mural that image fresh fruit platter and bottle of wine.

Kitchen table and chairs made of mahogany with a close finish with the same finish from the cabinet. There is a stainless steel island in the middle of the kitchen counter with a small sink and cutting board included in the top to sink. On top of this island a pot rack chandelier. Lighted pot rack is also illuminate the island counter to explain wh
en preparing food.

Did I mention the murals on the walls away from the kitchen? Now this is amazing and I'll explain why. First, just so you know, this name is a colorful mural Courtyard View. This is an artist's rendition of tropical marine coastal scenery of the page rocks with lush foliage. Absolutely stunning in a beautiful flower pot full of nuances in the line of red orange, pink and in the pages leading to a white linen tablecloths covered with round table and chairs.

Sitting in the middle of the table is a bottle of wine and a jug of fruit punch. Among the fancy flower pots lush green leaves of plants lining the road down the page. In the far background are palm trees line the coast with mountains rising from the sea. Wow, does this mural makes striking impression when you enter the kitchen. N
eed I say more?

From the kitchen, Jake and Diane lead me back to the stairs by the front door and we're all over Sarah's head into the room. This bedroom is all done in shades of lavender and pink. The bed is a bed of white wood-framed canopy with white lace canopy that has lavender edges around the entire outer edge. The curtains on the windows in accordance with lace canopy. dresser, the night stand and cage all finished in antique white.

Guess what was on the wall opposite the bed? Did I hear you say wall murals? You are right again. This time is called Unicorn Garden wall murals. This is truly a heavenly sight. I hope my description approached the awesome beauty of this mural. I
will do my best.

To begin with, this scene occurs at night. There is a unicorn and a teenage girl with a pink lace dress flowing with his right hand on the muzzle of his left hand caressing a unicorn and the unicorn on the lower neck. They stood under a big oak tree and in the night sky above was bright white harvest moon shining above them. The girl and the unicorn is placed on a small strip of land between two small ponds. The moonlight scene change into incredible shades of blue, purple and lavender.

On the far side of the pond behind them to the left is a waterfall that flows into the pond. In the background far to the right is the palace on a h
ill. Depending on the branches of trees they stood under the artfully made bright lanterns. In the foreground is the edge of the pool reflects both on the water.

On the edge of the pond to the right and left are wild flowers in shades of blue majestic white, yellow, gold, pink, lavender, and purple. The land they stand on the lush grass in the beautiful color of green jade. This full wall mural is extra fun to the atmosphere of the room. Nice Job!

Next, we headed down the hall to the room Jordan. Jordan's bedroom looks like a typical bedroom 11 year old child. Having framed race car twin beds. White walls have wallpaper checkered flag border going around the room about 1 /
3 of the way up the wall.

Stand dressers night and both finished in solid black. There is a black wall mounted shelf above the headboard of the bed. This is Jordan holds the trophy he won at the Pinewood Derby. On one wall-sized wall graphic NFL Quarterback Jordan favorite. Here too, the far wall opposite the bed, you guessed it, the mural wall.

Nowadays this special wall mural artist rendition NASCAR racing. With pastel colors are very bright spots surrounding the five brightly colored race cars and pulsating red, green, yellow and blue. You may feel a strong emotional excitement actually being in front row seats at NASCAR races. The artists who painted these really heart-pounding emotion genuine issue related to all the fans of NASCAR racing. This wall mural is wh
at I like to call it the perfect finishing touch to this child's bedroom. Nice job!

Now we head a little farther down the hallway into the room Emily. Jake and Emily's 7-year-old daughter Diane. When we entered the bedroom I saw the color scheme of yellow with pastel green accents in just the perfect shade of green to compliment the bedroom setting.

Here is a bed bed with Hollywood style more than a puppet entertainer in a rotating pattern of beautiful pastel green, pink, blue and yellow. The bed is positioned in the room, sat on the mat, with the head of the bed about 5 feet to the left of the window. The treatment window is sliding with mosquito net curtains in a lovely emerald green col
or. Here the night stand cabinets and is made from acrylic in a pastel green color glossy.

There is also a small bookshelf on the left side of the bed, matching dresser and night stand. On the far wall opposite the bed is what puts the icing on the cake, so to speak. You know I'm talking about wall murals are perfect for a girl 7 years old.

The title of this mural Daydreaming. It is fun and charming scene with two field mice lay on their backs with lush green grass. One mouse in the left mouse button while the other is on the right side of this picture colorful. Mouse so sweet in pastel wearing a red shirt with blue overalls.

Cute mouse on the right is wearing a lavender shirt with dark trousers blue pin-striped. Both mice is surrounded by fields of colorful wild daisies in beautiful shades of pink and yellow gold. The entire background of bright blue sky with billowing clouds. This is a cloud in the sky seemed to form shapes of birds, rabbits, butterflies and castles.

The entire border of this picture is seldom leafless vine. The unique part of the special wall mural is options that you can add a brief description on the clouds in order to personalize this mural. So after a little thought Emily had the words "Poison Little Dream
For Me" printed on the sky filled with letters like a rainbow. This room is the dream of a little girl.

Next Jake and Diane drove me to the end of the hallway, into the master bedroom. When we entered the main bedroom I saw that the walls were painted with light gray tone brown. They have a large size soft-sided water mattress sitting on a six drawer pedestal. Drawers, headboard and frame surrounding the base is finished in antique style brownish gray with matching night stands on each side of the bed.

Dressing table with large mirror and cages are also suitable fin
ish. There is a medium size Italian style rug on top of the headboard and two beautiful brushed tin wall candle holder candle holder on each side of the rug. On the far side of the room on the opposite side is in the waterbed room, is a full wall murals.

This wall mural is really beautiful. The name is a full wall mural of the Tuscan Villa. This is the Italian countryside views from the inside wall of pillared arched terrace outside. This artist rendition shows the three pillars of curved arches of this wall. Central archway entrance porch. Just outside the entrance, outside, is a fountain in the courtyard.

Pillar arch on the left and the right of the entrance has a beau
tifully carved stone railing and porch floor is built of random-shaped rocks. There is a beautiful green grapes climbing the pole and pillar inside of the curved wall of the terrace in the majestic tones of the earth. Outside, just beyond the pages are beautiful hills.

Some of the hillside are vineyards and some of the hills of gold reflects the beauty of the bright sunlight of the midday sun. In the distance are the majestic mountains purple with blue sky above. This full wall mural is an exciting art form that takes your breath as you enter this room. Wow, I was impressed.

From here Jake and Diane lead me back to the stairs to
the main floor. Between the living room and family room they opened the door with a staircase leading down to the basement is finished. Next we explore the recreation room in basement.

As I entered the basement they finished I could not help but notice that the wall is finished in stone and brick for the most part. Jake said that the brick wall and panel actually imitation. My answer is how real it really looks. Wet bar along one wall about 15 feet long with 10 seats in the front bar.

Mirrored wall behind the bar and there is a long cupboard under the mirror wall with liquor bottles lining the wall in front of the mirror. There is a po
ol table a few feet above, two pinball machines and juke boxes.

During the end of the room ping pong table. Over on the far wall, just past the ping pong table is a large flat panel TV mounted on a stone wall. This would be a perfect recreation room only in that way, but on the wall to the far side of the pool table was something that reinforced decorative atmosphere of the room. It was a full wall mural that makes the room come to life.

Let me start by saying that this mural wall made the room seem much bigger than it really is. The title of this mural is the Game Room. A more fitting title would be difficult to find. This scene occurs in a large building. Outer wall of curved glass front wall which must be at least 35 to 40 meters. In it there are people playing pool. Pool
table in the middle of the room. Decorating the room directly from the 1950's.

There is a bar to the right side with a TV tube is inserted into what looks like a Rolls Royce grill and activated behind the bar at the table. The front of the bar to have lights and grill from 1958 Edsel. Sofas and easy chairs around the room made from an open car trunk tail fin like the 1958 and 1958 Cadillac Mercury. There is a juke box to the right side of the room.

There are stairs leading to second floor with ancient gravity gas pumps right out of the early 1950 Mobilgas Station to the side of the stairs. There is so much detail in this full wall mural I could go on and on, but I just say that this mural is a perfect match for the recreation room finished his basement.

Wall murals add an extra dimension to any room. With a limited variety of subjects to choose from, including selecting your own image, you now have the ability to edit any place or room to every art form imaginable. If you let your creative imagination run wild, you will be able to add a magical atmosphere to every room of your house.

Indianapolis Real Estate: Top 10 Kitchen Design Trends of 2009

The kitchen is the traditional gathering place for family and friends - a magnet for conversation and companionship. It is the heart of the home - the social hub, the main workspace for meal preparation, homework and various craft projects. Many real estate professionals consider the kitchen to be the most important room in the house.

Kitchens may attract people, but not all kitchens are attractive. Because they are often a deal breaker in home sales, many owners opt to do a little remodeling, knowing that they can enjoy the benefits of an updated kitchen until it's time to move.

Industry statistics indicate that because the kitchen has a major impact on a home's value and on home sales, it's a good area to target for improvement. A well designed improvement offers a good return on investment, typically adding thousands of dollars to the appraised value of your home.

According to an ongoing national investigation of more than three million home improvement projects conducted by Oregon-based CNW Research, kitchen remodels are #1 of all remodeling projects. They consume more money, energy and attention than any other project short of building an entire new house.

The average duration from initial concept to completion is just under two years. The return on investment, according to Remodeling Magazine, for minor kitchen remodels is 79.5 percent (average cost: $21,246/estimated value: $16,881) and for major kitchen remodels is 70.7 percent (average cost: $110,964/estimated value: $78,398).

Your dream kitchen should combine artistic flair with practical function. The top design trends and features include:

1. Ceramic or glass tile backsplash. Backsplashes provide an opportunity to accessorize and personalize a kitchen in a practical way. Because of the relatively small area they occupy, they can be full of color, constructed of high-end materials or they can paint a picture, so to speak, in the form of a mosaic mural.

2. Stone counters. Whether it's granite, soapstone or poured cement, natural is the key to beauty and practicality in a counter top.

3. High-tech professional-grade appliances. Six-burner convection ovens are de rigueur these days. Seen at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show 2009 in Chicago, ceiling-mounted, whisper-quiet commercial exhaust fans and range hoods eliminate cooking odors and add drama to the kitchen design. Also on display at the show were induction cooktops with sensors to measure temperatures from the bottom of a pan, applying the correct amount of energy to the element for precise cooking results without wasted energy. Other high-tech items featured at the show were the touchless faucet and LG refrigerator with automated drawer for easy opening - items designed to appeal to homeowners planning for "aging in place." Built-in wine coolers and sub-zero refrigerators are other popular appliances.

4. Custom cabinets. Although refrigerators and microwaves are sometimes hidden behind matching custom cabinetry, dishes and glassware often aren't. Glass door panels with recessed lighting showcase the good china. An even more effective way to show off the goods is with open shelving. Some home owners opt for cabinets without fronts, while others incorporate long shelves. Maple, glazed or ebony are the current craze in finishes.

5. Lighting. LED under-cabinet lighting was widely displayed at KBIS 2009, combining convenience with drama. Recessed lighting throughout the work areas, combined with hanging pendant fixtures, is practical and pretty.

6. Sinks. Undermount sinks are sensible companions for granite counters, but the ultimate trend is the old-fashioned white apron-front farm kitchen sink. These big, heavy sinks offer more charm and practicality than a stainless steel sink, particularly for large families or homeowners who entertain frequently.

7. Floors. Because kitchens see a lot of traffic, selecting the right flooring is important. Choices sometimes reflect geographical location: Saltillo tiles, exotic hardwoods and parquet are all regional favorites. Choice is also influenced by budget. Despite the cost, however, natural options such as hardwoods and stone - including limestone and slate - are the most popular. While pre-finished oak remained popular, darker exotic woods like cherry, mahogany, Brazilian walnut, African Bubinga and Mexican Purpleheart are selected for their unique color and graining, as well as their superior hardness and density.

8. Glam. The KBIS 2009 show displayed sophisticated designs with hints of old Hollywood glamour and European sleek. Heavily ornate details are out. Color, however, is in, with TurboChef ovens in orange, refrigerators in an array of hues and even gold faucets.

9. Convenience. From user-friendly floor plans that place an extra sink in a center island to accessories like floor-to-ceiling spice racks and warming trays, the focus is on simplifying things for the cook.

10. Eco-friendly. Cabinetry approved by the Forest Stewardship Council is constructed from renewable and reclaimed agricultural products and contains low or no added formaldehyde adhesives. Bamboo is a popular eco-friendly material for kitchen cabinets.
Unless you're going for a pure period look or a completely mod style, an eclectic mix of antique or reproduction pieces add character combined with convenience to make a functional kitchen reflect your style. But whatever you do, ditch the wallpaper, borders, boxed ceiling lights and kitsch.
